We welcome those of you who are single, married, divorced, filthy rich, or dirt poor. You’re welcome here if you’re “just browsing,” just woke up or just got out of jail. 

 

We don’t care if your family is Catholic, Baptist, New Age, Old Age or if you haven’t been in church since last Christmas. 

 

We welcome you if you can sing like Michael Bublé, rap like Jay Z or if you can’t carry a note. We welcome soccer moms, NASCAR dads, starving artists, tree-huggers, latte-sippers, vegetarians and junk-food eaters. We welcome those who are in recovery or still addicted. 

 

We welcome you if you’re having problems or you’re down in the dumps or if you don’t like “organized religion,” because we’ve been there, too. If you blew all your offering money on a card game last week, you’re welcome here. We offer a special welcome to those who think aliens exist but God may not. We are so glad to see those of you who work too hard and those who don’t work at all.

You are welcome, even if you are here today simply because grandma is in town and wanted to go to church. We welcome those who are inked, pierced or both. Whether you are straight or gay we welcome you. If you’ve had religion shoved down your throat and don’t quite know what’s going on, but somehow wound up here, we welcome you.
