Baptizing children is a complex topic that parents are sometimes confronted with. This page is meant to give you some guidance and resources, and help you decide if your child is at the point of signing up for Baptism.
To be clear, we will never baptize a person who hasn't made a conscious choice to take that step of their own volition, regardless of their age. Biblical Baptism is always a deliberate choice made by the individual, not someone else on their behalf.
How do I know if my child is ready to be baptized?

In order to participate in baptism, kids should be old enough to tell their life change story and the impact Jesus has had in their life. Conversations with kids generally happen around the age of 8. As a parent, you know your child best and may want to encourage your kid to wait even longer until they’re mature enough to make the decision for themselves. We do not baptize children without their parent's consent.
What does having a relationship with Jesus mean?

God Rules - God created everything and there is nothing outside of His control.
Colossians 1:16-17 “for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.”
We Sinned - We are all sinners. Sin is anything you think, say or do that doesn't please God. Sin separates us from God.
Romans 3:23 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”
God Provided - God loved us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to save us from the punishment our sin deserves. Jesus alone saves us from our sin.
John 3:16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
Jesus Gives - Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the grave. He’s still alive today! Because Jesus gave up His life for us, we can be welcomed into God’s family now and forever. This is the best gift, ever!
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.”
We Respond - The letters A, B and C can help us remember how God wants us to respond to His good news.
A - ADMIT to God you’re a sinner. Tell God you’re sorry for your sins, and trust Him to forgive you.
B -BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is God’s Son and receive His forgiveness from sin.
C - CONFESS your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. That means that you tell God and others that you’ve trusted Jesus to be your Savior and to be in charge of your life.
What is Baptism?

A way to show your friends, family and others that Jesus is in your life.
Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Who can be Baptized?
Everyone that has joined God's family by choosing to trust Him and make Him the leader of your life.
Acts 2:38 “Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
How is a person Baptized?
You will be baptized in water. The person will go into water, being fully submerged, then coming out of the water. This is meant to represent, and identify with, Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection.
Acts 8:38 “He ordered the carriage to stop, and they went down into the water, and Philip baptized him.”
